Sharing Photos, Voices and Memories of North Walsham in Norfolk

NEWS

Just a little update. The current 'lock down' has enabled me to crack on with the Fred Mace book. I've had lots of input and help and I'm almost there with the final files for the printers. Obviously the print will be subject to lock down restrictions too so it may be a little while yet but I wanted everybody to know it's very definitely on it's way. Over 250 photos in a 144 page, A5 book spanning over 40 years (1940s to 1980s) and covering most of the town, professionally photographed by Fred Mace and compiled by the archive group over the last 10+ years, professional compiled and artworked by yours truly and (very soon) professionally printed and bound by Barnwell Printers all for a no-nonsense £10. The 2018 North Walsham & District Community Archive calendar is available from today, £5.00 each, at either... Swallows Coffee Shop, 24a Market Place Express Printing & Stationery, 38 Market Place or online via this website. Please support the group by buying one (or more ithe mood takes you!) as all profits go to future projects and our ongoing mission to preserve and promote North Walsham's photographic history. We need your photos!!
We are always on the look out for more suitable photographs from the history of North Walsham and the surrounding area for inclusion in the archive, we'd love to hear from you if you. That old photograph hidden away under the bed of a local hotel, house or other property, maybe it's an old school photo or workplace photo or just a photo of a place like a road or park in the area or even a facility like the train station. Many of these places have now vanished or look significantly different now to how they looked 50 years ago and will probably be of interest to others. Please contact us if you think you can help.

Further details about the Group can be obtained from the North Walsham Library or email us using our online contact form.
